The price doesn't move
Unless you change the scope in writing. Discovery surprises are our problem, not an invoice line.
The two things that go wrong on software projects are scope drifting and clients being kept in the dark until the end. We've designed the whole engagement around preventing both.
You describe the problem. We ask about volume, who touches the process, and what happens today when it goes wrong. By the end you'll know whether this is a $300 problem or a $30,000 one, and whether we're the right shop for it. If we're not, we'll say so and usually point you at someone who is.
We map the current workflow properly, usually with a working session involving the people who actually do the job. Then you get a scope document: what gets built, what explicitly doesn't, the technical approach, the risks, the timeline, and one fixed price. It's yours whether you hire us or not — several clients have taken ours to another developer, and that's fine.
A working link goes up in the first week, even when it's ugly. Every Friday you get a short written update: what shipped, what's next, anything that needs a decision from you. Big changes get re-quoted before we build them, never invoiced as a surprise afterwards.
Websites get performance, accessibility, and cross-browser checks before launch. Software gets automated tests on the paths that would cost you money. AI features get an evaluation set built from your own historical cases, and we report the accuracy number honestly — including when it isn't good enough to ship yet.
We deploy into your accounts, transfer every credential, and walk your team through it live — recorded, so the people who miss it can catch up. You get written documentation and a runbook for when something goes wrong at 4pm on a Friday.
Bugs in what we built are fixed free for 30 days after launch. After that you can take a care plan, call us ad hoc, or never speak to us again — the code is yours and it's documented well enough for anyone to pick up. No lock-in, no hostage-taking.
These go into every contract, not just onto this page.

Full IP assignment on final payment. Repository, hosting, domain, and keys in your name from day one.
An update every Friday for as long as the project runs. If a date is slipping you hear it early, not late.
AI accuracy, page speed, and run costs are measured and reported — including when the answer is inconvenient.
If it's broken and we built it, we fix it free for a month after launch. No ticket haggling.
Hosting, domains, model usage, and licences go on your accounts at cost. No proprietary platform, no rent to keep your own site online, no exit fee.
Four representative scopes, so you can find the one closest to your situation and see the shape and price of it before you call.
Enquiries arrive by web form, phone, and three inboxes. Nobody knows which are unanswered. We build one intake queue, auto-classify each enquiry by job type and urgency, draft a first-pass quote from the pricing sheet, and route it to the right estimator with an SLA clock.
Shape: AI Sprint + small build · ~$3,200 · 4 weeks
Fifteen years of proposals, reports, and contracts spread across a file server and two cloud drives. We build an internal assistant that answers questions from those documents with citations back to the source file, respecting the permissions people already have.
Shape: Custom software + AI · ~$7,500 · 7 weeks
An old site that didn't work on phones and wasn't showing up in local search. New site with online booking wired into the existing practice software, service pages targeting the searches people in the neighbourhood actually type, and staff able to update hours and pricing themselves.
Shape: Website + integration · ~$1,000 · 2 weeks
Two people spend most of their week keying supplier invoices into the ERP. We extract line items automatically, match against purchase orders, flag only the mismatches for human review, and post the clean ones straight through.

You don't need a spec, a budget, or a clear idea of the solution. A description of what's annoying is enough to start.
